Comic video games have come a long way during the last decade and a half. They have gone from films links to some of the most important launches of each year, and that reputation is due in large part to the Batman series: Arkham. Rocksteady rejuvenated the whole genre of superhero games with his Batman's main trilogy, and when the main series came to an end, Insomniac continued to take the proverbial torch with the excellent Spider-Man from Marvel . Now, with the efforts of insomniac becoming an own franchise, Batman and Spider-Man are located at the top of the superhero genre success mountain.
While Insomniac Spider-Man games have been a great success in their own right, it can not be denied that the Batman series: Arkham laid the foundations on which Marvel and Sony have built since then. The Arkham series prospered thanks to an innovative game mechanics that was not only new for superhero games, but also for the third-person action games.
