How does CrossSplay matchmaking work?
Not every game mode fits into console and PC players. Not competitive modes such as strikes and social spaces will be matchmake on all available platforms. However, competitive modes work slightly differently.
Competitive modes such as gambit and crucible are divided into two matchmaking pools. A matchmaking pool includes only console players (PlayStation, Xbox and Stadia) and the other PC players only. A console player can still join the group of a PC player, but this feeder is matched against the PC pool.
Trials of Osiris requires that players have activated CrossSplay to participate. If you have deactivated the cross-platform playback, you can not play Trials of Osiris. However, the same matchmaking rules continue to include the same matchmaking rules so they do not record PC players in their match unless they invite a PC player to a group. Console and PC players remain separated in trials, but they must have activated CrossSplay to play.
Destiny 2 is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and Google Stadia.
