When I think of Skyrim, it brings me many good memories. I was working with a large group of people (it's not that I'm not now, I must add) in an office that she had been desperate to get for years; I had just moved to a floor with my girlfriend (now my wife); And I had bought Skyrim for a price obscenely low in Xbox 360 thanks to a ridiculous treatment that was running the British retailer Game. Everything was great.
Then I played Skyrim.
For reasons that I still have to specify, I have tried and I have not been able to enter Skyrim on five different occasions.

Xbox 360 Skyrim
Everything was fine with the original Skyrim launch. It was at the top of life and an exceptionally good treatment, but then things hit the fan in a dramatic way. Lydia, a NPC that I still have to learn a lot and that very well can end up being the ruler of Skyrimville, fell from a mountain.
The details beyond that are confusing (there were many stairs, and perhaps some kind of grandiose entrance) but all that I know with certainty is that Lydia, a NPC of unknown importance, had gone. I looked for it everywhere, assuming that she probably would be at the foot of the mountain, but there was no sign.
Perhaps she had succumbed to the wounds suffered by the fall of 1000 feet and she had been taken by wolves? Not knowing I consumed and stopped playing shortly after. The fall of Mario Kart 7 in 3DS a few weeks later did not help in things.
Xbox One Skyrim
Skyrim came to Xbox One and PS4 with some improved images and compatibility with modifications, and is the latter that really ended with this attempt to enter Skyrim.
I saw Youtube videos of Skyrim modified running on Xbox One (and then Xbox One X and Series X) and I was obsessed with trying these configurations. That's all I did in the game. I would prepare all the modifications, I would launch the game to walk through a small area, I would decide that it looked good and then proved something else.
I tend to fall a lot in this trap and it is one of the main reasons why I got tired of PC games. I would focus on both the adjustments that the games rarely would play. Anyway, the second attempt (and the fourth / fifth attempt) finished in failure.
Nintendo Skyrim switch
This was going to be the indicated one. The Skyrim version you could play anywhere. Finally, I would go more in the game than in a few hours and I would join the masses of people who consider Skyrim is a great genre.
I did not do it.
I tried to climb a mountain walking directly up instead of taking the long and winding road.
This started well. I made a quick progress and I laughed at the path that disappeared around the back of the mountain while practically slipped through the almost vertical wall of the cliff.
Unfortunately, the look of sufficiency on my face became exasperating when I found myself unable to reach the top, my dragonborn suddenly showed the ability to walk from a small child. I should have surrendered and go to the path, but not. This mountain was not going to beat me.
During the following week, I would spend the little free time I had trying to get on this mountain. It was useless. Skyrim remains installed on my switch as a reminder of my failure.
Whats Next?
Looking back, I think it's fair to say that I am mostly the culprit not to enter Skyrim. I definitely took some strange decisions in the game over the years. Then, maybe Skyrim in Xbox Series X / PS5 is the time when everything clicks.
Or maybe I will continue to wish Bethesda Try Oblivion with a charming remasterization.
And you? Has it also cost you enter Skyrim, one of the most popular games of all time? Let me know in the comments and, please, I did not lose Lydia, since that will make me feel better.
