Developers can make more on the screen without waiving stable frame rates, says Ivan Pabrarianshy by My.Games.
With the new X019, Microsoft has taken some important steps to prepare for the next generation. Xbox Game Pass sees several new additions such as Kingdom Hearts and yakuza While new IPS such as Rare's everDild and Obsidian Geerdet were announced. However, it may take a while until we see the effects of the Xbox Scarlett hardware on the game development.
How will, for example, technology like GDD6-RAM affects the game development? We had the opportunity to talk to Ivan Pabrirarzhyn from My.Games who has the free franchise management to play shooter Riegsgesicht. He said that GDD6 RAM should fix one of the larger obstacles to consoles.
The storage performance is one of the biggest bottlenecks in the development of a console, said Pabiarzhyn. GDDR6 offers a great deal of data transfer rates between processor and RAM. This means that the CPU is less time waiting for access to data in RAM, which is likely to have a positive impact on the frame rate. With GDDR6, developers can bring more content to the screen without having to do without stable frame rates. That's great.
Essentially, this would mean that games like Halo Infinite could offer the same big struggles as its predecessor, only with more objects on the screen and with a higher resolution. However, with all the advantages that the hardware offers, it may take some time until the developers perform a complete optimization. This seems to be the case with every generation.
Xbox Scarlett is available in Holiday 2020. Sony's Playstation 5 is available in the same period.
