It has been almost a year since Xbox and PS5 were launched. But the consoles and exclusive titles are still scarce. In Xbox we analyze the current situation.
What happens with the availability of consoles? The time has come and the next-generation consoles PS5 and Xbox are celebrating their first anniversary. But for many users there is little to celebrate, because the consoles are still scarce: o Consoles are exhausted immediately or only are available at exorbitant prices of the greedy resellers.
Many users really want to have a next-generation console, but at the moment it does not seem that the situation will improve in the coming months. Even now, PS5 ticker at Xbox is booming, since many have not yet received a next-generation console.
Above all, the lack of components for PS5 and Xbox continues to slow down the production of consoles.
But how is the current situation? With the current amount of games, is it worth buying a console like this?
The number of exclusive titles for PS5 and Xbox will be manageable in 2021
How is it seen on the PS5? In the PlayStation 5 it is about
- Destruction All Stars
- RATCHET and CLANK: Rift Apart
- Return
- Demon's Souls (Remake)
- Astro Game Room (Pre-installed on PS5)
showed up. Actually, you can only play these games on the next-generation platform of Sony, a version for PS4 is not planned because the PS4 performance is officially insufficient for games.
How is it seen in the Xbox? Here the situation is much more confused than in PlayStation. Because Microsoft publishes many games in addition to Xbox Series X for Windows PC (via blog.xbox.com). You do not necessarily need a console for many games, a PC for quick games is usually enough here.
What do the players think about? In Reddit, for example, a user mocking (through reddit.com):
I still have not seen any game that is worth buying a new console. People play games that are 10 years old or pixel games (ie, independent games) that can be executed in a calculator.
Although people say that thanks to compatibility with earlier versions you can also play PS4 games on PS5, some respond that you do not have to spend 500 euros in them. Because the games would work on the PS4 without any problem, even if you had to dispense with the fast SSD. The same applies to the Xbox, where you can also play old games at the Xbox Series X.
However, behind some of these users is probably also the fear of being able to get lost something and not necessarily because there are no special games for the console. After all, you want to be one of the first people to have such a new console in the closet or on television.
PS5 and Xbox: do not be afraid to lose you
What kind of fear is that? Because this fear of getting lost is a concern of many users who fear that if they do not have a PS5 or Xbox could miss important box office successes or even technology. After all, you want to play games first and not only when you can buy games at the supermarket in the cash register in the cash register. One would like to discuss games and experiences with other users of society.
The fear of losing something or the acronym pomo means a form of fear of missing something important. In games, this includes achievements, events, other exclusive rewards or even games you want to play first.
Some users say: In addition, because the amount of exclusive is currently very scarce, there are enough users who say: do not be afraid to lose you something exciting if you have a ps4 or xbox (through reddit.com). Because with Last-Gen you can play all current games without major problems.
Instead, many games are newly reviewed for next-generation consoles.
Few next generation real games, but 4K updates
Many manufacturers have begun to update their old games to the latest technology for the next generation consoles Xbox and PS5. Games get 4K updates, they get ray tracing functions and can be played with 120 fps.
There are users here who explain that games as control or exodus metro feel like next-generation games thanks to updates, even if they were actually launched for the previous generation.
Metro: Exodus has been updated at a resolution of 4K to 60 FPS at Xbox Series X and PS5.
That's why users criticize the situation: But not all players like that. Some users suspect that it could be a calculation of developers: I think some developers reserve or label their games as double-generation to earn more money. (through reddit.com)
Because many buy games now for your PlayStation 4 and then consider buying the game again for PS5 when they have the new console. Here comes the accusation that companies are deliberately relating PS4 games for expensive money as a new version for PS5 to be able to charge again.
However, not all developers go along this path. Some games offer a free update to the PS5 version. Games like Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Marvel's Avengers or FIFA 21 can be updated free of charge. Instead of the PS4 version, you can download it to the PS5 version. Sony made it clear here that all developers were free to decide if they wanted to offer a PS5 update for free.

The Xbox also offers the function Smart Delivery here. Smart Delivery means that if you buy any version of the game, you will always have access to the best version of the game, regardless of the hardware.
2021 Bring some box office successes, but not just for PS5 or Xbox
What games are to come? Especially at the end of 2021, several important games will appear again. However, none of these games is exclusive from PS5 or Xbox.
You can expect three great games in particular by 2021. But they are not exclusive to PlayStation 5 or Xbox, you can also play them on your PC, Xbox One or your PlayStation 4:
- FIFA 22 (1.10.)
- Battlefield 2042 (22/10)
- CALL OF DUTY: Vanguard (November 5)
What exclusive titles will continue to arrive at 2021? The list of exclusive titles for PS5 is generally manageable and there will be no more important titles in 2021. Sony has postponed the great exclusive titles for 2022. Here, however, they should appear Titles like God of War: Ragnarök and Final Fantasy XVI. Horizon Forbidden West will also be available for PlayStation 4 on February 18, 2022.

PlayStation Showcase is mainly intended to present news about PS5
When will there be new information about the PS5? Sony recently presented its last PlayStation showcase. It is mainly about PlayStation 5, but Sony had not explicitly excluded to the previous generation in the ad (through blog.playstation.com).
The exhibition will officially take place on September 9, 2021 at 10 p.m. The event lasts around 40 minutes and is intended to present a lot of games and information about PlayStation.
It is supposed to be futurous games that will be thrown at Christmas or later. However, it should not be PlayStation VR.
Buying a PS5 now has become a search that is no longer just about games. No Sony console was as popular as the PlayStation 5. A real community is being formed: some only want their console at last, others want to earn even more money with the PS5.
