In the interview with Xbox Squad, the We Happy Few developer Compulsion Games talks about the effects of Xbox Game Pass to game development. PR boss Naila Hadjas says that the Xbox Game pass has no negative impact on the development of a game.
Hadjas explains that Xbox Game Pass it more players than ever enabled to get access to a game and try it out what ultimately can lead to a purchase. We Happy Few was published in the subscription as part of the ID @ Xbox program, and she believes that development has no negative effects with regard to the service.
No, no negative effects. Positive, yes. We want as many people to access our games as possible. For example, we wanted to publish only on Steam, and gradually we have published it on ID @ Xbox and then at the same time on the PlayStation. What we really want is that people can play our game. The fact that it is included in the Game Pass means that more people can play it. There is not really a negative side.
Naila Hadjas indicates that the technical differences between Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S bring some restrictions in development. COMPULSION GAMES is part of the Xbox Game Studios and works on a narrative third-person singleplayer game.
