Microsoft announced today that Dolby Vision Gaming is now available for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
The two Microsoft consoles are the first to offer this feature. Together with Dolby Atmos, the full spectrum in the fields of graphics and active audio will be offered.
More than 100 next-generation HDR tracks that have been optimized for the X | S series are now or shortly available in Dolby Vision! There are more than 100 next-generation HDR tracks that are optimized for the X | S series and support Dolby Vision. And in the future, more games like Halo Infinite will benefit the benefits of Dolby Vision.
In addition, through the new Dolby Vision extension, the Xbox Series X | S additionally benefits thousands of classic HDR10 and auto HDR games from a better picture quality.
Microsoft announces: In addition to this selection for the Xbox series X | S optimized titles we also wanted to make sure that the robust library of games previously published in HDR or Auto HDR also benefit from it. For this reason, we worked with Dolby to create new visual improvement opportunities that use Dolby Vision technology to provide an improved visual experience for thousands of existing HDR10 and auto HDR games. If you are connected to a Dolby Vision-enabled TV and Dolby Vision is enabled on the Xbox Series X | S, the consoles will automatically improve your existing games to deliver a rich, active experience that will not be achieved by any other game console.
But this is not all: Dolby Vision is compatible with the functions of the next generation available on the Xbox Series X | S. This includes DirectX RayTracing, low latency automatic mode (ALLM), variable refresh frequency (VRR) and up to 120 fps depending on the TV. Microsoft and Dolby continue to work closely with TV manufacturers to update firmware support for Dolby Vision features at 120 Hz.
