Welcome "Fennel" in Button City, a charming small town with a diverse group of anthropomorphic animal residents. As a newest Fuchskind of the city, the last thing that fennel wants to do his video games aside and leave his room. That is, until he learns from the town hall of the city and their doubtful game, gobabots.
Enthusiastic from the slot machines and the colorful environment Fennel Farel quickly suits himself with the Fluff Squad, a group of playing global animal children, which are determined to deethron the current gobab champions. After a quick crash course in the 4V4 action game and finding his first friends Fennel finally feels at home.
He does not suspect that happiness in his new home would only be short duration. As the literally greedy fat bag Peppermint Pepperbottom sees the opportunity to demolish the loved play hall of the city and to build a new superstore in her place, he does not consider long and closes the doors forever.
Now it is in the hands of the fluffy and determined - children to save their favorite cross, helping their fellow citizens and become the new gobab champions.
Button City tells a heartwarming story about love, stamina and friendship with quirky characters, vibrant designs and popular melodies. New friendships builds and collects sweet outfits while her arcade mini-games masters, including gobabots, the electric drifting of Revolution Racer and the Dance Rhythm game Prisma Beats.
"At first glance, Button City may appear like the summer fun of a heap of peculiar children, but the story conveys a strong lesson about how to get together to do the right thing," says Ryan Woodward, Lead Programmer at Subliminal Gaming. "We also wanted to make sure that we find a way to tell a story about the community experience of the arcade and how gaming people bring together."
Button City is now available worldwide via Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 5 (except Japan), Nintendo Switch, Steam for PC and Mac for 19.99 euros and supports the languages English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese. There is a demo here.
