25 years after the original release, the cult shooter Quake is now as good as never before - thanks to a brand new upgrades, which has published Bethesda for the Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5 . With a high resolution, spectacular framerates and console-specific extras, fans can now experience the action classic in full Next-Gen splendor.
Quake gets rich graphic upgrade
Bethesda announced a surprising Next gene upgrade for Quake yesterday in a blog post. The shooter that was released in 1996 can now be drawn both on the PS5 and on the Xbox Series X in 4K resolution and with 120 fps - if next to the console there is also a corresponding screen or TV.
In addition, PS5 owners may look forward to the implementation of the adaptive trigger feature of the dualSense controller - as well as the integrated speaker support. For owners of an Xbox Series X | S, on the other hand, there is the Xbox-Play Anywhere feature that allows the game to be drawn on Windows PCs. (Source: Bethesda)
Bethesda surprised with next-gene upgrade
The FPS classic Quake was allowed to celebrate its re-release on the new consoles in August, but initially in the versions for the PS4 and Xbox One. Now Bethesda has pushed a worthy Next gene upgrade - and for all owners of the last-gene version it is free. While the game uses the Smart Delivery feature on the Xbox Series X | S for installation, players must manually install the improved version on the PS5 via the Game Hub or PlayStation Store.
