Genesis does not even want to surrender with half things. So no plug-in hybrids that could beat a bridge between the old world of the combustion and the new of the PUR electrical driving in the model program. Rather, the jump takes place directly: After the limousines G70 and G80, the SUVS GV70 and GV80 as well as the G70 Shooting Brake, the GV60 comes onto the market.

noble brand from Hyundai
Genesis? This label may not say anything to every1. The noble brand of the Hyundai Group was founded in 2015, and it has only been present in Germany since 2021. Not only here the 4.52 meter long Midsize crossover GV60 meets two sister models that are already sold - on the one hand the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and on the other hand the KIA EV6.
These two are also anything but simple characters. The GV60 is supposed to add something in terms of noblesse, after all, it is important to fulfill the premium claim of the Genesis brand with life. Especially the front with the characteristic "quad" lights and the so-called Clamshell motor hood, which also integrates the fenders, looks like an import from the future, the side view gets a sporty touch through short overhangs, the chrome-plated window bar accumulates the kinks an indicated "V" that stands for "volt" and thus for electrical, as product specialist Joris Burkholz explains.

Then he explains what the "beauty of the white space" is all about. The interior design, as we experience, and that it is determined by Korean architecture. The wide screen landscape, which connects the driver display and the touchscreen into an optical unit, is already known from the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the KIA EV6, the most best solved, also because an extra panel with various button direct access to Important functions such as air conditioning enables the driver to get lost in the shallows of any menus. It's just a shame that the smartphone has not yet found wireless connection. However, the processing quality is out and extremely noble, the seats offer a high degree of comfort, optional - for example, during the loading break - they can be brought almost.
View of the crystal ball
Crystal ball "Crystal Sphere": When the drive is activated, it turns to the automatic controller. Manufacturer
The GV60 also adopted this relaxing position from its sister models. But he makes some things very different. So he directs the view of a (illuminated) crystal ball: "Crystal Sphere" calls herself, after pressure on the start button, it rotates by 180 degrees and becomes an election element for the driving levels of the automatic. Quite spacig and therefore meaningful in this respect when the driver receives the feedback in such a way that the car is on a willingness to drive. After all, this does not work via the engine noise with the electric car. And instead of conventional exterior mirrors, there is digital that sends a razor -sharp picture to two easily visible monitors in the upper area of the doors for 1460 euros surcharge.
top model with 490 hp
Genesis offers its first battery electrician in two versions, both with a double engine concept, both with all-wheel drive. The GV60 Sport does 234 kW/318 hp, the Sport Plus brings it to a whopping 360 kW/490 hp. A first exit with this power version to the Frankfurt area with its motorway routes and meandered tunus routes led to convincing findings: as quietly and comfortably cruist of the Genesis electricity, the electronic chassis control preview ECS (770 euros) is practicing with the help of a forward camera In foresight by collecting information about the road and adapting the adaptive damper to ahead.
Brave color: Here the GV60 shows in "Sao Paulo Lime". Manufacturer
At the same time, the forward urge turns out to be huge, all the more when the "Boost" button is pressed on the steering wheel and the drive conjures up additional performance from the hindquarters for ten seconds 40 kW/54 hp and calls up the full torque of 700 Newton meters. If you put it on it, the GV60 Sport Plus storms the Tempo 100 mark in four seconds, the sport takes only a little longer with five seconds. Genesis did not want to brake both variants and allowed them a top speed of 235 and 200 km/h. Although Germany is the only market that allows such speeds, "it was very important to us," as product specialist Burkholz says, "because this is what distinguishes a premium brand".
800-VOLT charging technology
The rangwide reality of such quick activities in other ways in other ways-with the standard values of 470 (sport) or 466 kilometers (Sports Plus), they are rather not compatible, even if the charging is quite quick. Thanks to the powerful 800-volt technology, the GV60 only needs 18 minutes on one of the (still rare) 350 kW fast charging stations in order to fill the 77.4-kWh battery-pre-defined navigation with activated navigation. The procedure takes seven hours and 20 minutes on the 11 kW wall box, but then the battery is completely loaded. And if you book the outdoor package with a vehicle-to-load function (V2L) for 1040 euros, you can use the vehicle, conversely as a power dispenser for external electrical consumers such as a pedelec.
Personal care
Luggage compartment: It takes up 432 to 1550 liters, and there is also a 20-liter "frunk" under the front hood. Manufacturer
By the way, if you google for the next Genesis dealer on the Internet, you are looking for in vain. Because the brand goes its own way when sales. Classic sales outlets are not maintained, instead so -called studios, of which there is already one in Munich, two more will open in Frankfurt and Berlin. Otherwise, customer contact runs through the "Genesis Personal Assistant", GPA for short. Not a virtual contact person, but a feasible person who takes over the advice, brings the car to the test drive and after buying it also delivers it directly at the front door. The delivery and holy service also extends to workshop appointments.
pre -configured
The GV60 is not very cheap. Sports are started from 56,370 euros, Sport Plus requires at least the investment of 71,010 euros, a five-year full guarantee and the inspections are included in both cases. Because with regard to the funding bonus - 7975 euros gross - the question of the delivery time is relevant: A contingent pre -configured vehicles is directly ready for the market launch on June 7, if you want to put together your desired model individually, you have to wait six to nine months.
